Question: What is CBD?

Answer: CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, which is one of the molecules that is found in the cannabis plant.  Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, it can also act as a neurotransmitter.

Question: What is CBD oil?

Answer: Extracted from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant, CBD oil is a natural essential oil which is used worldwide for many purposes.

Question: What are Cannabinoids?

Answer: All cannabinoid plants produce cannabinoids, known as phytocannabinoids in their plant form.  These active compounds are responsible for the health benefits offered by cannabis.  Neurotransmitters that are naturally present in the body, known as endocannabinoids, are mimicked by phytocannabinoids.

Question: How does CBD work?

Answer: At the cellular level, neurotransmitters help to regulate body systems.  CBD has demonstrated its ability to act similarly to a neurotransmitter, impacting the nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular and digestive systems, as well as various organs including the heart, liver, kidneys and skin.

Question: What is hemp seed oil?

Answer: Hemp seed oil has distinct properties from CBD oil.  The difference lies in the process by which the oils are produced – hemp seed oil is created from the plant’s seeds, while CBD oil is produced by extracting the essential oils from the cannabis plant’s flowers.

Question: What is the difference between CBD and hemp?

Answer: The family of cannabis strains that are grown for food and fibers is known as hemp, while CBD is the molecular compound that is found in the plant’s extracts.  Therapist Preferred is extracted from PCR hemp (phytocannabinoid-rich hemp).  This proprietary strain is highly rich in CBD, cannabinoids and terpenes compared to the basic hemp plant that is used by most companies that produce CBD products.

Question: What is the difference between CBD oil and hemp seed oil?

Answer: The essential oil that is extracted from the flowers of the cannabis plant contains beneficial compounds including cannabinoids and terpenes.  In contrast, hemp seed oil is similar to oils such as corn seed and sesame oil, which are produced from the plant’s seeds.  The distinction is that there are no terpenes or CBD in hemp oil.

Question: Is your product safe?

Answer:

No illnesses associated with the consumption of CBD have been documented.  The extensive testing that all Therapist Preferred products undergo guarantees that they are THC free and free from harmful contaminants.

Question: What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Answer:

Both hemp and marijuana are categorized as cannabis.  Marijuana contains THC, which is known as a drug and causes a high.  Although hemp contains negligible amounts of THC, it is not considered a drug and does not cause a high.

Question: What is CBD used for?

Answer:

Homeostasis is known as the body’s natural state of balance.  Many people use CBD to promote homeostasis and this is achieved due to the cannabinoids which act as an integral part of the body’s regulation process.

Question: Does your product contain THC?

Answer: No.  All Therapist Preferred products show no THC on independent lab reports.  All traces of THC found in the hemp extract are removed in production.

Question: Can I see your lab reports?

Answer:

Our lab reports are available on our website for each batch that is tested.  Click here to view our most recent reports.

Question: Why should I choose CBD over medical cannabis?

Answer:Medical marijuana, also known as medical cannabis, is different that CBD.  THC is found in marijuana, which is the chemical that causes a high.  Medical marijuana can cause severe impairments if not dosed properly.  CBD does not cause a high, therefore, it can be safely used while performing all physical activities, including working, driving and exercising.

Question: What does “broad spectrum” mean?

Answer: CBD oil products that contain a combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and other beneficial compounds found in PCR hemp are known as ‘broad spectrum’.  Therapist Preferred products are manufactured using the same concentrations of beneficial compounds that are found in the original PCR hemp plant without the THC.  It is important to note the difference between our products and a full spectrum CBD product that still contains some amount of THC.

Question: Is broad spectrum CBD oil psychoactive?

Answer: Therapist Preferred products do not produce a high as all THC has been removed from the broad spectrum oils.

Question: Will I feel any effects from using CBD products?

Answer: Organic compounds such as CBD demonstrate various individual effects.  Your results may vary, however, you should be aware that some of the reported effects have included  improved mood, improved focus and attention and restful sleep.

Question: Can I overdose on CBD?

Answer: It is not possible to overdose on CBD – there is no documentation that has indicated this.  CBD is completely non-toxic and all Therapist Preferred products are THC free.

Question: What are the benefits of taking broad spectrum CBD products?

Answer: There are many benefits of using broad spectrum CBD products especially over those  .  containing just a CBD isolate.  This is primarily due to the “entourage effect” which occurs when all compounds in the hemp plant work together to produce greater results than just CBD alone.  Note that organic CBD produces different effects in different individuals so results may vary.

Question: What are terpenes?

Answer: Hydrocarbon compounds which are produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant are known as terpenes. These chemicals are responsible for the distinct aroma of cannabis and have been utilized historically in healing in the form of aromatherapy.  The FDA recognizes terpenes as safe for human consumption, which explains their presence in a wide variety of food and cosmetic products.

Question: Does CBD have a shelf life?

Answer:While there is no expiration date for CBD itself, CBD oil products should be used within a certain time period as they oils will degrade.  Product expiration dates are stamped on the products to alert you to this.  It is recommended that these be stored in airtight containers in a cool area out of direct sunlight or in the refrigerator.
